HISTORY

The 5.12K Run to Brunch, in partnership with Keep Austin Weird, is a celebration of everything we love about Austin! Keep Austin Weird curates the best of what makes Austin such a unique place for people to live, work and play. By promoting the best of our culture, innovation and philanthropy, Keep Austin Weird’s goal with this event is to bring together Austin’s best and brightest businesses, chefs and personalities and celebrate our great city.

In 2019, Keep Austin Weird presented the inaugural 5.12K Run to Brunch, benefiting Austin’s own LIVESTRONG. Thousands of locals spent their morning in the heart of downtown Austin racing a 5K or 10K to a collection of Austin’s best brunches featuring local produce, chefs, your favorite restaurants, creative brunch cocktails and live local entertainment at Auditorium Shores. Each brunch guest had an opportunity to cast their vote for their favorite “weirdly” creative brunch offering – crowning a winner of the “Best Brunch in Austin.”

Immediately after crossing the finish line, runners ended in the Finish Line Expo where they will engaged with local companies representing the core of the Keep Austin Weird motto – a celebration of how Austinites think differently driving innovation, creativity and unique self-expression.
