HISTORY
Produced by Forefront Networks since 2012, this longstanding community event is a cornerstone to Austin’s holiday season and its largest holiday event. The event’s mission is to celebrate the magic and wonder of the holiday season with the entire community.
“It’s like being a kid again. It brings back
all those childhood memories and
getting to see the excitement in my kids
eyes makes it.”
CELEBRATE THE MAGIC
Over the years, dozens of people and organizations had a hand in telling the story for the Austin Trail of Lights. As a result, a mix of visual styles and disconnected tones of voice were presented to the community each year. In 2019 working with Forefront Networks, we positioned the Austin Trail of Lights brand with cohesive visual communications and established a consistent brand voice to eliminate the confusion present in the community.
Armed with a reformatted logo, refined color palette and new website along with a mission statement and brand values to fall back on, the Austin Trail of Lights’ presence in the Austin community looks, sounds and feels just as the Austin Trail of Lights Foundation stakeholders intended.

AUSTIN TRAIL OF LIGHTS FUN RUN
HOLIDAY PARTIES REFRESH
Most people think of a family-friendly / kid-heavy event when thinking of the Austin Trail of Lights. Behind the velvet ropes, lives a whole other side to the 50+ year event that most are familiar with. The Trail also offers beautifully decorated and meticulously coordinated holiday parties for businesses, organizations and large family events. When tasked to “elevate” the holiday party vibe at the Trail, I opted for a colorful and modern take on holiday imagery. Something fun that kids could be interested in, but also classy enough that a corporate or adult-only group would identify with as well. Clean, fresh and uncluttered was the direction with a hint of the ever so popular Scandinavian aesthetic. Simple pine tree forms with vibrant colors helps party guests feel that bit of a nip in the air that the holiday season brings — even in Austin, Texas. The new visual facelift and color palette became the inspiration for the production team’s onsite decor and signage as well.
